The Burnside Bridgehead is undergoing a generational transformation, shifting from a series of vacant buildings and empty lots to a vibrant neighborhood that unites community and commerce. Slate is at the heart of this transformation. Located on a half-acre lot at the corner of NE 3rd and Couch, the project consists of a 10-story blend of "live" and "work" spaces, including ground-floor retail, flexible office spaces, and beautifully designed residential units. By incorporating thoughtful design with post-tension concrete construction, the new structure blends seamlessly with the surrounding neighborhood while helping to revitalize the Burnside Bridgehead. The staggered façade features large windows that allow fresh air and abundant natural light into each unit, while also creating visual interest from the street. The building meets high energy efficiency standards and has earned LEED Gold certification. Situated at the intersection of two major transportation corridors, Slate is one of the most accessible locations in the Portland region.
